fight to keep writing alive
May was exceptional with over 25,000 words written. Then life happened. June has been abysmal so far. Two weeks with only 4,500 words out of which ~2,900 were journal entries. Active job hunt combined with stressful job are top culprits. There’s another one that must be named out.
Procrastination. Laziness. Boredom.
The exciting chapters are mostly written and novelty has worn off. Novel has become like a project I’m responsible for. These cases have led to the total abandonment of projects in the past. It always starts with temporary halts and then blows into their death. I can’t have that happen again.
Yes, I’m on a job hunt. There are applicants to send, interviews to prepare for, and connections to add. Einbürgerungstest also awaits me in two weeks, and I haven’t prepared a single question yet. My current job doesn’t make anything easier with daily stressors.
Still, I must find a way. I must carve out a slice of time and pursue writing. If it dies one more time, I’m not sure I’ll be able to rekindle it again. It must stay alive. Consistent. Present.
Writing has suffered in recent weeks. But I have to bring it back into my life. Gaming and casual time waste around the house can be trimmed down to make time for morning hours.
Remember: if it was easy and required no sacrifices, everyone would do have published books.
If you want to see yourself among those who’ve pushed their boundaries and accomplished the mountainous task of finishing a book, if you want something you never had before, you act like you never have before. You got this buddy.
